Zenger Paşa Konağı

It is the first touristic restaurant of Ankara. Constructed in 1595 during Ottoman Empire era she has been able to continue her existence to our time. Having been restored by Erkal Zenger in 1991/92 she came into operation. Zenger Paşa Konağı, bearing a striking resemblance to old Ankara Houses, has a very alluring athmosphere. On the third storey of Zenger Paşa Konağı, which is used as a restaurant, you can watch the mysterious and unique scene of Ankara and enjoy yourself drinking your beverage while listening to Performance played by an orchestra. Besides, you can taste different meals of Anatolia here; especially Pasha Flat Bread(Paşa Pidesi), ‘Glad Eyes (Gözleme), Girdle Fried Meat (Saç kavurma) and Meat pasty (mantı) are among the mostly prefered ones. The fact that the prices are not so high enables people of different walks of life to come; civil servants, students and the bureaucrats are the frequenters. The most striking feature of the decoration is Hitit Güneşi, which has become the symbol of Ankara and civilization freskos. The restaurant with a capacity of 230 customers has the system of fusion cuisine that is the trend of the day. That is, it is possible to taste any of French, Russian, Turkish and especially Black sea region cuisine: My favorites are stuffed black cabbage, fried pickles and kuymak. There is also a variety of seafood. The price of the restaurant which serves between 12:00 and 24:00 is quite reasonable. The restaurant appeals to many people including bureaucrats and foreign guests. The restaurant having received an award for its hygiene from Ankara Municipality is very good both at service and quality of food. The only possible difficulty might be the parking problem. At noon Turkish cusine, at night with beverage fish and meat restaurant. Her experienced owner has dealed with every kind of work related to restaurant for many years. He himself deals with even the buying and selling. Waiters have been the same for long periods of time. Beefsteak, meat and vegetable casserole meals, fish and meal of künefe are cooked very deliciously. I recommend this place to you. She appeals to everyone from middle class and upper class. Uludağ restaurant at Ulus has been servicing you for over 40 years. Specialized in kebab with yoghurt her experienced owner, waiters and cookers continue their quality service and meals without any degredation. There is not many alternative in menu; only beefsteak and kebab with yoghurt when ordered. The restaurant is not placed in a reliable place, you can not go whenever you desire. Washington Restaurant is one of the restaurants giving service in Ankara castle for years.The restaurant take us away from the crowd and noise of town to a silent environment. "Wooden roof"that resembles the old houses of Ankara, old Ankara pictures on the walls gives comfort to the guests. Guests are generally;deputies,bureaucrats,local and foreign tourists. There are fifty tables (25 inside, 25 outside)will give service to approximately 250 guests;everyday between 12:00-14:30 (lunch service) and 19:00-24:00(dinner service).Unless there is inedequate service personel in the restaurant, we can taste the special and delicious foods of restaurant with accompaniment of classical music. Most preferred foods are;Smoke Salmon Crepe (cold app.),Grated mushroom(hot app.),Fillet Mignon with mushroom sauce (frying pan),Chateaubriand(From charcoal Grill),Special Kebap Kale(specialities)and chocolate souffle for dessert.Also there is a special and rarely existing wines;"SARAFİN",produced from special Saros grapes will be predented to the guests service...In short;normal prices,simplicity of environment, accompaniment of classical music and the foods in different tastes will be enough to satisfy the guests. This a place which will make it a habit to eat flat bread. These words may seem to be pretentious however; Ye-An has been offering the most delicious flat bread with stewing meat and minced meat of Ankara for years. Even though she is placed near to an industry area, this may seem to be a disadvantage, it is a place where delicious meals appealing to people from different walks of life in Ankara is cooked. Public-house-tavern. Reservation is unacceptable. This is a public-house in the centre of Ankara where drunkards are so many. She is the oldest public-house of the neighbourhood. The same old and abominable decoration has been used for many years. Characteristics of the restaurant: cordial and traditional, appetizers are fresh and of high quality.
